Arriving before 5:00 a.m. provides the best opportunity to observe the market at its liveliest, enjoy a local breakfast and see how food, trade and community remain closely connected.

After visiting the market, continue to the riverside to offer alms to monks before walking across the suspension bridge towards Wat Tha Khanun.

Wat Tha Khanun is one of the most respected temples in Thong Pha Phum. It is a spiritual centre for local Thai residents as well as ethnic communities living throughout the district.

The temple is closely associated with Luang Por Sai, a highly revered former abbot remembered for his compassion and dedication to Buddhist practice.

His preserved body is enshrined in a glass coffin inside the temple hall, where visitors may respectfully pay their respects.
